Taylors of Harrogate has worked with botanic experts at the Royal Botanic Gardens in Kew to develop green teas.
Strawberry & Vanilla and Sweet Mint launched exclusively in Asda last week priced £2.19 for 20 teabags, and the range also includes Pure Sencha Green Tea and Grapefruit & Lime. Taylors described the teas as “smooth and mellow” without the “usual bitterness associated with green tea”.
The green tea market is worth £32.6m [IRI 52 w/e 31 January 2015]. l Vivid Drinks’ matcha teas have been expanded with an unsweetened RTD (rsp: £1.89/330ml) in Boots from next month. It has also launched a 30g pouch of matcha powder (rsp: £19.99).
