Morrisons director of corporate affairs Richard Taylor has quit to join Tony Blair Associates.

Taylor, who has been at Morrisons for six years, is understood to have joined the agency last month. Tony Blair Associates was set up by the former PM as an umbrella group for his business interests.

Before joining Morrisons, Taylor had spent three years as a policy advisor for the Labour Party and the same amount of time as a special advisor in the ministry of defence, all during the New Labour years while Blair was Prime Minister.

He also worked at Portland, the public affairs agency set up by former Blair advisor Tim Allen.

Morrisons told PR Week that Taylor’s responsibilities would be split between head of communications Julian Bailey and head of corporate affairs Guy Mason.
