Tesco has teamed up with agricultural purchasing group Anglia Farmers to launch a new ‘Producer Club’ for suppliers.
A spokeswoman for Tesco said the joint initiative, launching on 21 September, would give suppliers “purchasing support” on products and services needed for the day-to-day running of farms, as well as “an unrivalled” combination of savings and benefits.
By offering discounts on goods and services like feed, fertiliser and vet fees sourced by AF buyers, the group would save suppliers “time and money”, she claimed.
Tesco suppliers would also have the option to become shareholders in AF, one of the largest agricultural purchasing groups in the UK.
