Foodservice wholesaler DBC has appointed Simon King as its new buying and marketing director.

King joined from Coca-Cola Enterprises this month, where he had worked for 13 years. His most recent position at CCE was as associate director for strategic procurement, where he was responsible for a £1bn spend.

Before joining the procurement team five years ago, King held sales, marketing and operations positions. He also gained experience of the catering trade as national caterers’ business development manager.

DBC’s previous buying and marketing director Sue Cronin-Jones left the company for personal reasons in December.
