The new packs boost shelf life from five to nine days

Gourmet Burger Kitchen is looking to almost double the shelf life of its burgers by scrapping traditional tray packaging in favour of a new skin pack wrapping.

The company claims the new packs will extend shelf life of its 6oz chilled burgers (rsp: £4.49 for a pack of two) from five to nine days, as well as boost shelf standout, and reduce packaging and product waste.

The new repackaged burgers will be sold in Waitrose from 28 April.
