TV’s Ben Fogle and former M&S product developer Annabel Vere Nicoll have launched a snack brand made with ingredients from British artisan food producers.

Dilly & Wolf is this month rolling out snacks using ingredients from suppliers including Hodmedod’s - which last year launched British-sourced baked beans - Mara Seaweed, Hebridean Sea Salt and The Herb Company.

The range includes crisp-style Chisps made from chickpeas, spelt and yellow split peas, which are available in Hebridean sea salt, seaweed & malt vinegar, and sweet & spicy flavours (rsp: £2.99/35g). Dilly & Wolf is also launching clusters of roasted nuts, peas and seeds - called Nusters - in wasabi, macadamia & chilli, and spicy pea, onion & chilli (rsp: £3.99/50g). They roll into Selfridges next week and Daylesford next month.

Dilly & Wolf, founded 18 months ago by Fogle and Vere Nicoll, recently received a cash injection from private equity investors. The company plans to launch a sweet range by the end of the year.

Hodmedod’s MD Nick Saltmarsh said he was now sourcing 20 tonnes of British-grown fava beans and organic yellow peas, up from two tonnes a year ago, and was also looking at launching its own snack range.
