fuller's vintage ale

Remember those Stella Artois ‘Reassuringly Expensive’ ads? Fuller’s has just blown its pricey lager out of the water.

The brewery has unveiled a premium collection, the star turn of which is its 1997 Vintage. Described as ‘dark and rich with a fruity aroma,’ the beer ‘develops a taste that hints at brandy’. Sounds like the sort of thing you’d pay £250.80 (that extra 80p is crucial) for 550ml of, right?

For that much dosh it ought to be so reassuring it gives you a hug, makes you a cup of tea and tells you a bedtime story.
