The client director of shopping engagement at 1HQ on job interview parking mishaps, her fancy dress compulsion and Victoria Beckham

What was your first-ever job? Working behind the counter in a newsagent. I got fired as I had lied about my age - I was only 13 - keen to get on the career ladder early!

What was your worst job interview? It was for a electronics and household goods company. I started by parking in the CEO’s space, then it got worse as I was interviewed by a woman with the interpersonal skills of a robot. In the end I stopped the interview and explained that it wasn’t the job for me.

How do you describe your job to your mates? I help companies tackle their problems by asking the one hard question the company is facing.

What is the most rewarding part of your job? Taking a business challenge and being part of a team that solves it.

And the least rewarding? The commute from J17 to J6 on the M4.

What is your motto in life? ‘Always look on the bright side of life’. But I also live by the motto ‘always be prepared’.

If you were allowed one dream perk what would it be? A chauffeur.

Do you have any phobias? Anything with six legs and local radio morning DJs.

If you could pick a celebrity to join your staff who would it be and why? Victoria Beckham - anyone who can branch into so many successful ventures and keep going despite media bashing and public criticism has got to be insightful.
