Typhoo CEO Keith Packer is set to become managing director of 2 Sisters Food Group’s frozen division.
Packer will take up his new role in January, replacing industry veteran Eddie Power, who is stepping down at the end of the year.
The frozen food division includes the brands Goodfella’s, Green Isle, Donegal Catch, Holland’s Pies and Matthew Walker.
Packer, who will report to 2 Sisters CEO Ranjit Singh, joined Typhoo as sales director in April 2006 before becoming CEO early in 2009. To date he has spent 20 years in the food and drink industry, having joined Sainsbury’s as a senior buyer in 1994. He left the retailer in 1998 to join Allied Bakeries and also held senior roles at Pfizer and Britvic.
“I’m excited to be joining 2 Sisters Food Group and continuing the strong growth that Eddie and the team have shown within the frozen division,” said Packer.
Power will remain with the frozen business for the time being to ensure a smooth handover of responsibilities.
“I would like to thank Eddie for his contribution to the group and the frozen division in particular over the last four years. We wish him all the best,” said Singh in a note to staff.
“Keith will be moving with his family to the Republic of Ireland to take up the role and I know that you will all welcome him, and give Keith and Eddie your full support during the transition.
“These changes will help us increase focus on delivering food excellence, industry-leading service and ensure our customers are at the heart of everything we do.”
Power joined 2 Sisters in 2010. He joined from Grampian Country Food Group, where he was MD. Before that he ran the group’s pork division and was chief executive of Glanbia’s meat division.
