Sainsbury’s chilled and packaged foods guru Yvette Sowerby has joined Bakkavor as technical director.
Sowerby, who has more than 20 years’ experience in technical roles, will join Bakkavor’s UK operational team and also provide support to its US and Asia operations.
“Having worked with Bakkavor in previous roles, I now look forward to joining the business as it continues to target growth both in the UK and internationally,” said Sowerby.
The technical director studied food technology at the University of Reading and went on to hold a number of senior appointments in the industry, including two separate roles at M&S.
Sowerby joined Sainsbury’s in 2013, where she assumed a role as head of technical for chilled foods and subsequently became head of technical for packaged foods.
She will join Bakkavor with immediate effect.
