Young’s has hired Morrisons seafood buyer Frank Green to be its new sales director for frozen seafood.

Green is currently category director for fresh seafood at Morrisons, and will join Young’s as sales director for its frozen retail business on 7 April.

In his new role at Young’s, he will report to Wayne Hudson, Young’s managing director for frozen.

Green joined Morrisons in January 2012. Prior to that, he was deputy managing director of Cumbrian Seafoods and held a number of senior sales roles in Young’s frozen and chilled divisions.

Hudson said Green’s experience and “passion for seafood” would be “a huge asset” to Young’s. “I am pleased that we have managed to attract someone of Frank Green’s calibre,” he added.

Green will replace current sales director for frozen Liam Pickup, who will leave Young’s at the end of May “to pursue career opportunities within commutable distance of his home location”, according to a statement by Young’s.

Pickup has been with Young’s since 2011, and Hudson said he had been instrumental in “building the competitiveness of our frozen brand”.

Morrisons has not yet announced who will replace Green within its seafood team.
