Dairy Crest has rolled out its redeveloped Jugit milk jug concept alongside Sainsbury's extension of the milk bags system.
The new jugs have a spout that is easier to remove and clean, as well as a removable handle for people with minimal fridge space. The lid is hinged at the handle side rather than the back and has a stronger clip to keep the milk bags in place.
The use of the jug and recylable bags would reduce packaging by 75%, Dairy Crest claimed. Sainsbury's has rolled out the milk bags format nationwide following a trial in 50 stores.
