The consumer
Reminiscent of a beach holiday in Spain, Sun Beach's Pina Colada encapsulates the combination of the flavours of pineapple and coconut, to leave a refreshing yet rich and fulfilling taste. Scarily non-alcoholic tasting, the drink is smooth and easily drinkable, but could potentially, in large consumption, become rather sickly. It is fruitily sweet and indulgently creamy a perfect tipple to kickstart a summer's evening. Four stars (out of five)

The retailer
The outer packaging is brash and it needs work to make it more suited to the UK, including info such as units of alcohol. The flavour lacks balance between the rum, pineapple juice and coconut. The can requires shaking and this is not explained on the instructions, so the consumer is likely to see separated 'bits' of coconut milk. There is also a danger that the drink will price itself out of what is rapidly becoming a saturated market of me-toos. One star

The Grocer
There have been a slew of 'cocktails in a can', but most have been spirit and fizzy mixer, such as rum and cola. The single-serving format means you don't have large bottles of mixer going flat. However a Pina Colada is still, and shaking a drink in a can before opening it feels counter-intuitive. Also, a Pina Colada is a social drink not something you drink alone. This cocktail, which tastes great, would be a nice party drink in a large elegant glass bottle, but not in a single-serve can. Three stars
