Italian craft cider Angioletti has launched into Morrisons.
The 6.8% Angioletti Riserva has rolled into over 400 stores, and is billed as the only “real” Italian cider being sold in the UK. It is made from 100% Italian apples which are pressed, fermented and bottled in Trentino (rsp: £2/500ml).
The launch “further highlights the importance of genuine craft credentials and provenance for consumers within the premium cider category”, said its founder David Peek, adding Morrisons’ buying, supply chain and retail teams had been “incredibly supportive”.
It marks the second supermarket listing for the brand this year - it rolled out the 5% abv Angioletti Secco variant in 500ml bottles to Tesco last month.
Peek said he was “confident that Angioletti has huge scope for further growth”, hinting at further releases in 2018.
