Pernod Ricard is taking Havana Club into the spiced rum category.
Havana Club Cuban Spiced (35% abv) – technically a spiced spirit drink made with Cuban rum – will roll out from 15 March (rsp: £22/70cl).
Pernod Ricard UK off-trade channel director Chris Shead said the NPD would “offer a unique proposition that sets it apart from the competitive set of nautical-inspired spiced rums” and was “set to recruit new consumers into the category” with a “gender-neutral design and the perfect balance of fresh, sweet and tropical flavours”.
The brand is recommending it be paired with cola or ginger beer, or used “to enrich classic cocktails”.
