Beverage Brands is expanding WKD into the canned ready-to-drink market as WKD Remix.
The sub-brand is being launched initially into the grocery channel as two 5% abv 250ml canned drinks in Citrus Cut and Apple Cut flavours (rsp: £1.85). The sparkling drink is based on the same vodka used for WKD, blended with mixed fruit flavours.
It is the company’s second venture designed to tap the canned RTD spirits category, which has grown by 32% in the past year to £54.9m [Nielsen 52w/e 3 March 2012].
It follows the launch earlier this month of single cocktails with “a contemporary twist” under the Joe’s Cocktails brand.
