asda scan and pay

  • Scan & Go Mobile is now available at all 581 Asda stores

  • Asda said the move would allow shoppers to keep tabs on their spending as they go

Asda has rolled out its contactless scan & go service to more than 200 extra stores, in a bid to reduce contact with checkout staff during the coronavirus crisis.

The move has seen the retailer open its Scan & Go Mobile offering to all 581 stores.

Customers can download an app on their phones to scan groceries as they shop and checkout at scan & go checkouts.

“Customer and colleague safety is more important than ever before, so the rollout of Scan & Go Mobile should offer peace of mind in these uncertain times - enabling customers to shop, pack and checkout, contact-free,” said Louise Bagshaw, senior director of retail and front end innovation at Asda.

Asda said the move would also allow shoppers to keep tabs on their spending as they go, helping to save money and keep an eye on their budgets, which would help many families under financial pressure.

“We understand that this option may not be suitable for all of our customers and continue to follow strict social distancing in our stores, to help keep our customers and colleagues safe - no matter how they shop with us,” added Bagshaw.
