Premium Czech lager Budvar is embracing the digital age with its debut online ad campaign.

The activity targets Budvar's Facebook fans and Twitter followers with a daily quiz about the brand, running over the 12 days of Christmas. Prizes range from branded glasses to a holiday to Budvar's brewery in southern Bohemia.

The activity would boost awareness of the brand's heritage, claimed marketing controller Ian Moss.

"We believe social networking was made for our beer, with its strong cerebral appeal to the individual rather than the group".
