Bonds Silver chocolate bauble

Bonds Confectionery has unveiled a range of Christmas lines under its own brand.

The business, which makes products including traditional sweets in jars and supplies major grocery retailers with own label, is launching the gifting range at the beginning of November. The line-up comprises milk chocolate Gold and Silver Baubles (rsp: £2.50/150g), ‘Reindeer’ Fudge (rsp: £1.50/150g) and Bah! Humbugs (rsp: £1.50/170g).

The seasonal collection would build on “overwhelming” own-label success during Christmas 2014, said MD Philip Courtenay-Luck, adding last year’s demand for own-label festive confectionery had taken the whole of Bond’s capacity.

The humbugs were pitched as an alternative to candy canes, while the fudge line would appeal as a gift or family treat, said Courtenay-Luck.

In July, Bonds relocated to premises more than double the size of its previous site, following a “bumper year” that it said brought a 12.2% increase in turnover to £15.6m.
