UBUK-owned McVitie’s Cake Company is gearing up for Halloween and Bonfire Night by bringing back a selection of seasonal lines.
From early September, McVitie’s Jaffa Cakes Lemon & Slime and Spooky cake bars will be available alongside McVitie’s Tate & Lyle Bonfire Toffee and Sticky Toffee Apple cakes (rsp: £1). The latter will feature a new pack design, including food imagery and a “Bonfire Bakes” flash to highlight the products’ seasonality.
Both Halloween and Bonfire Night remained “key opportunities” for cake, said Karl Bollon, customer marketing & insights manager at McVitie’s Cake Company.
“It’s important that retailers take the time to create seasonal displays and in-store theatre to disrupt customers shopping on auto-pilot,” he added.
