A viral ad to showcase Sainsbury’s 2014 Christmas jumper range is taking social media by storm.
The ad, launched this week, was watched more than one million times and shared over 18,000 times on Facebook in just 48 hours. It has also been watched more than 500,000 times on YouTube.
It features a group of five dads dancing to a dubstep version of Tchaikovsky’s Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy in a community hall.
The remixed track has also been made available as a free download through Sainsbury’s Entertainment and Soundcloud.
“We wanted to celebrate the fun of Tu’s Christmas jumper range with something a bit unexpected,” said Meera Folkes, digital marketing manager at Sainsbury’s.
“Judging by the response, there’s now going to be even more dad dancing across British homes this Christmas.”
