Just a week after rival Just Eat freshened up its ‘Did Somebody Say…’ campaign by hiring Craig David, Uber Eats has come up with a brand new ad featuring another big British star.
Actor Jude Law plays the lead role in Uber Eats’ romcom, which begins as a parody of Notting Hill. In a quaint book shop, Jude brushes hands with a woman as they both reach for the same hardback. The music swells, she insists that, no, please, you take it… so he does.
The rest of the ad sees Jude deflecting more meet-cutes before settling down on a park bench and stuffing his face with the chicken he’s ordered via a certain app. Law gamely gobbles so offputtingly that his final potential match isn’t quite as interested as he thinks she might be.
He’s done enough romancing, is the idea. This ties in nicely with the ‘when you’ve done enough’ strapline – and gives Uber Eats room for a sequel or two in almost any genre.
