Irn Bru maker AG Barr has acquired sports drink company Taut International for a nominal consideration of £1.
As part of the deal, AG Barr will acquire the ongoing business of Taut UK and Taut International on a debt free basis. The companies reported a loss of £1.3m for the year to 31 December 2006 and gross assets of around £1m.
“We are excited about the Taut acquisition and the opportunities it presents in the fast growing sports drink category,” said AG Barr CEO Roger White. “We anticipate rapid integration of the Taut business and consequential improvement in the operating performance of this business.”
