Asda has launched a pay-as-you-go mobile phone service called Asda Mobile.
Calls cost from 8p per minute and texts from 5p each, and customers are charged the same price for calls to any mobile network or landline at any time of day.
The package will initially be available in 51 stores before being rolled out across the UK later this year. Asda is also planning to rebrand its in-store mobile phone centres.
