Consultant KPMG says it is seeking a buyer for failed Welsh abattoir and meat processor Cwmni Cig Arfon.
The factory, which counted Bookers among its customers, closed with farmer suppliers reportedly owed up to £6,000.
All staff have been laid off and the site has ceased production. KPMG is set to be named administrator.
Founded in 1992, Cig Arfon opened a new £1m processing centre just two years ago.
Meanwhile, Cornwall’s Kilhallon Quality Meats has opened a new processing and packaging plant near St Austell.
The factory, partly paid for by EU Objective 1 funding, is located at a redundant abattoir in Kilhallon.
The plant is fully operational and poised to prepare beef, lamb and pork cuts for retail. The site features a processing line for organic meat.
