The founder of family dairy business Robert Wiseman has died at the age of 88 after suffering a heart attack while playing bowls on Tuesday afternoon.

The founder of the giant dairy firm, Robert Wiseman Dairies, started the company in 1947.

A statement issued on behalf of the family said: "He drew great pleasure from watching the business grow and transform into a successful Plc, under the stewardship of his sons," it read.

The company’s Neighbourhood Shop of the Year Final is to be held tonight at St Andrews in Scotland.
