Henderson Foodservice has acquired Independent Catering Services in Northern Ireland.
ICS, which is based in Newry, supplies chilled and ambient lines to caterers in Northern Ireland but also has a significant client base in the Irish republic.
Henderson said it planned to transfer ICS's operations to its Mallusk site by March. "There is obvious synergy between our two companies and this acquisition will bring added value to the ICS customer base through our chilled and frozen capability and additional product ranges," said Henderson MD Damien Barrett.
