Premier Foods has appointed Dr Louise Makin as non-executive director. Makin is chief executive of international medical innovations company BTG. She has also held a string of senior roles at Baxter Healthcare.

Jayne Greene has been appointed national account executive at seafood processor Simpson's Seafish. She joins the company from East Yorkshire-based Hedon Salads, where she was national account manager responsible for Tesco fresh produce.
Larcombe on board
Gallaher has appointed Brian Larcombe, former chief executive of venture capitalist and private equity company 3i Group, as non-executive director. John Gildersleeve, chairman, said: "My fellow directors and I look forward to benefiting from Brian's extensive international experience."

The Freight Transport Association has begun its search for a successor to chief executive Richard Turner, who is to retire next autumn.

Wolverhampton & Dudley Breweries has appointed Rosalind Anna Cuschieri as a non-executive director. Cuschieri, who has been at Warburtons for eight years, is commercial director with responsibility for managing national accounts and commercial strategy.

Cash machine provider Cardpoint has announced that its founder and chief executive officer, Mark Mills, is to step down from the board with immediate effect. Cardpoint has appointed Bob Thian as chairman with immediate effect. He replaces Michael Hepher, who has resigned. Thian is chairman of Southern Water and Whatman.
