Marks and Spencer is this week expected to reveal full-year pre-tax profit of approximately £751m, up from £618m the year before.

Analysts have also predicted that the retailer will unveil plans to increase the amount of space in its stores for food as part of a re-design of its mid-sized stores.

M&S is also expected to provide an update on a number of food initiatives. The chain has been considering an online food offering, and there has also been speculation that M&S could launch into catering.
