The new depot has been dogged with difficulties since it went live at the end of October, with deliveries running days later than planned. Last week some retailers reported a third of product orders were not being delivered (‘Mega-depot plagued by problems’, The Grocer, November 26, p6). However, with head office diverting resources to focus on the situation, retailers say they are clawing back lost ground. “They are still running a day behind schedule, but the offer to the customer is much better,” said one. “Our orders are now running at 90% availability.”
Neil Turton, Nisa-Today’s group commercial director, said: “Current warehouse stock availability is 91%.” He urged retailers experiencing particularly bad figures to contact him immediately. Christmas trading now looked promising, he added.
