Co-op Wholesale has renewed its partnership with Scottish indie retailer Pro Gro Supermarkets for five more years.
The new supply contract will continue to cover Pro Gro’s estate of 12 Nisa stores across Scotland, solidifying the symbol group’s presence north of the border.
Under the extended partnership, the independent retailer will continue to access Co-op’s own label and branded ranges across top-up products, BWS, food to go, snacks, and food for tonight, including Co-op’s Irresistible pizza range.
Co-op Wholesale said shoppers’ trust in Co-op own label was supporting increased basket spend.
“We’re thrilled to be furthering our Nisa store presence in Scotland through this five-year contract extension with Pro Gro Supermarkets,” said Co-op Wholesale sales and partnerships director Paul Webster.
“It’s testament to the fact that we understand the independent convenience store market and offer unbeatable partnership and knowledge to help them flourish and grow. This is a truly wonderful business, and we’re thrilled to continue to work alongside them.”
Pro Gro Supermarkets MD Jay Javid said: “Signing this new five-year partnership with Co-op Wholesale was an easy decision, there was simply no one else in the market who could match their level of support.
“The key accounts team is phenomenal, our weekly deliveries are on par if not excellent, and their availability week in, week out is the best in the market. I have built invaluable personal relationships across the Co-op Wholesale team.
“We are in constant communication and they are always with us to support – that kind of partnership is priceless. Quite honestly, there was no other player in the market capable of supporting our already significant business and our ambitious expansion plans. This deal allows us to take our store estate from 12 stores and beyond. We are incredibly excited about the future, and we thank Co-op Wholesale for everything.”
