Tesco has resumed selling jeans by Levi Strauss two years after a legal battle between the two companies ended when Tesco agreed not to sell cheap Levi’s bought on the grey market.

Levi’s has since launched a new brand named Levi Strauss Signature aimed at supermarkets and low cost retailers. The jeans retail for £25 and went on sale in ten Tesco stores as part of a trial.

A Tesco spokeswoman said: “The jeans have only been selling for a week but the early sign are encouraging.”

Last month Asda began selling the jeans in 70 stores and is likely to expand distribution to 120 stores.
