What's it like to work for your company? No two days are the same. The 'real-time' nature of chilled convenience food manufacturing means that every day brings new demands.

Why is it a good employer? Greencore's core values around people embrace development, reward and the creation of an equitable work environment.

Does the company offer any unusual benefits? We offer a competitive suite of benefits and try to facilitate individual needs by being as flexible as possible.

How does the company differ from its rivals? Greencore has a leading market position in the majority of the own-label categories it operates in.

Is there a definable company culture? Yes. It stems from a set of values that reinforce personal responsibility, focus on performance, belief that people make the difference and passion for great food and customer service.

If the company were a car what would it be and why? A good-quality mid-range turbocharged car.

What's the training like? What qualifications can I earn? Only this week three of our colleagues have been awarded their MSc in Environmental Management, as part of their company-funded development. We have an Emerging Leader Programme for executives and a large number of on-the-job and externally certified programmes.

Has the company won any awards or been recognised in the last few years? In 2008 we won five awards at the Food Manufacture Awards, including Company of the Year and the award for People Development for our Lean Leadership Academy. We have also won a number of awards across our businesses including The Grocer Own-Label Supplier of the Year in four categories over the past two years. Many of our products have been recognised in The Grocer Own Label Food and Drinks Awards.

What's your proudest achievement over the last 12 months? I am particularly proud of the business transformation the group has been through. Greencore has emerged as a strong, focused convenience foods business during a difficult economic time.

What is the most challenging HR issue that you're dealing with? We are about to launch a new electronic performance management system, which will enhance the process and speed up feedback.

Are you looking for any people right now? As a large organisation operating across many sites we are always on the lookout for strong candidates.
