Safeway is celebrating the expertise of some of its butchers who have won accreditation with the Worshipful Company of Butchers.
More than 150 received the award after a three-day course, and 10 were honoured as outstanding.
The Safeway delegates studied subjects that ranged from company policy to merchandising and display as part of the course.
Stephen Caldecourt, Safeway fresh food development manager, said the accreditation was evidence that the staff had the best skills possible to work within the meat environment in Safeway stores.
