Jon Pepper had ‘more than 20 years’ experience in the premium drinks industry,’ Hatch Mansfield said

Hatch Mansfield has appointed Jon Pepper as its new CEO, effective 2 November.

Pepper joins the wine wholesaler and importer to replace MD Ben Knollys, who will leave Hatch Mansfield at the end of October after 24 years.

Hatch Mansfield had already announced plans to consolidate the roles of MD and CEO into a single position earlier this year. Former CEO Patrick McGrath is to transition to the role of chairman.

Pepper joins Hatch Mansfield from Stoli Group, where he was most recently CEO of its fine wine and spirits business Tenute del Mondo.

He bought “more than 20 years’ experience in the premium drinks industry, including senior leadership roles at Buckingham Schenk, Enotria and Stoli Group”, Hatch Mansfield said.

“The reputation of Hatch, its exceptional portfolio and strong culture precede it,” said Pepper. “I very much look forward to building on that strong foundation with our producers and customers, and driving growth in the years ahead with such a fantastic team.”

McGrath said: “We appointed Jon after a thorough search of the market and could not be more thrilled with our decision. Jon understands the importance of the relationships with our producers and customers, and the team and culture that have shaped Hatch Mansfield.

“The board and I are confident that Jon’s extensive experience and strategic expertise, as well as his sense of humour, make him the perfect fit to lead Hatch into a new era.”
