Nisa retailers can now obtain their tobacco requirements through the group's Nisaway central distribution facility. Deliveries will commence on June 4, completing the final link in Nisa-Today's plan to provide a one stop shop for its retail members. The tobacco products will be distributed from the group's licensed warehouse in Scunthorpe, where work has just been completed to more than double the available space from 80,000 to 170,000 sq ft. The extra capacity will also enable Nisa to expand its drinks operation. Retailers will place their tobacco order with their usual Nisaway order  incorporating ambient grocery and licensed products  for delivery two days later. Currently, Nisa retailers purchase tobacco from a number of sources, including direct from the manufacturers, from cash and carry, or delivered wholesalers such as Palmer & Harvey McLane. Nisa-Today's md John Schofield said Nisa members could expect "extremely competitive prices" and he believed tobacco sales through central distribution would reach £100m in the first year, pushing total central turnover close to £1bn. {{NEWS }}
