A small Cornish startup is looking to take on Unilever's Lipton Iced Tea with a locally produced range of iced teas.

Daymer Bay Iced Tea was co-founded in October by Anthony Jenks, the former MD of Cranley Fresh Foods, who is balancing the role with an advisory position at JJ Foodservice.

Available in lemon, peach and mango (rsp: £1.50 per 500ml bottle), Daymer Bay Iced Tea is available in Spars and delis in Cornwall and London, with the Port Isaac company talking to the multiples about listings. The tea is sourced in Sri Lanka, and Daymer donates a penny for every bottle sold to a Sri Lankan orphanage. The combination of Cornish provenance and ethical appeal would make Daymer appealing to the British market, said Jenks.
