Milk co-operative Dairy Farmers of Britain has been awarded a 12-month contract to supply liquid milk to Aldi stores across the country.

The contract, which begins next month, equates to volumes of 12.5 million litres of milk a year and represents more than a third of the discounter's liquid milk business.

The milk will be supplied in Aldi own label polybottles and will include two-pint skimmed and four-pint whole and semi-skimmed milk SKUs.

Matthew Farebrother, NAM for Dairy Farmers of Britain, said: "From May 1, we will be supplying 35% of Aldi's milk requirement, thus illustrating that with the right focus and a can-do attitude, significant wins like this can be achieved."
