The Dairy Crest name has been around since the 1960s

The Dairy Crest brand has disappeared after it changed its name to Saputo Dairy UK.

The name change follows the acquisition of the Cathedral City owner by the Canadian dairy giant in April, in a near-£1bn deal. The rebrand would help the supplier expand its “reach and reputation” into overseas markets, it said.

“Since the acquisition completed in April, we have received resounding feedback from our employees that n Now is the time to rebrand the company,” said Saputo Dairy UK’s new president and chief operating officer, Tom Atherton.

“Cathedral City and our other market-leading brands have always been our prime focus, and that will remain the case. Our consumers will see no change to our much-loved products.”
