The Grocer has joined forces with Convenience Store and Him to create a new set of awards for the convenience sector.

The Convenience Awards will harness Him’s awards programmes, which are based on extensive shopper and retailer research, with the Convenience Retail Awards, which has focused on individual store performance.

The awards will be held at a glittering ceremony at Exhibition London in White City on Thursday 14 May 2020.

Entries are now open for a range of awards highlighting operational, environmental, technological and channel-based excellence across the whole gamut of convenience outlets, from small independent stores to national chains.

There will also be a prize for the best sales assistant.

A further raft of awards will be presented based on the findings of shopper and retailer research powered by Him’s Convenience Study, the largest piece of convenience research in the UK, including an award for the best supplier salesforce.

“The Convenience Awards brings together an unprecedented level of convenience expertise, to properly champion and reward the incredibly high standards being set by retailers and suppliers operating in the convenience channel,” said Lorraine Hendle, managing director of The Grocer and Convenience Store.

“By joining forces, we will deliver the best of both awards programmes in a single, dynamic event that is a must-attend for all those in the industry,” added Jill Livesey, managing director of Him.
