Winner: Grind
In 2011, Grind founder and CEO David Abrahamovitch turned his father’s mobile phone store in Shoreditch into a coffee shop.
The ‘café by day, cocktail bar by night’ soon became a local hotspot. It was the start of a cross-channel coffee brand that has since racked up nearly £40m in revenue.
With several sites across London and one in Manchester, Grind is now a recognisable name in the competitive coffee space, spanning out of home, DTC and retail.

The brand’s compostable Nespresso capsules, whole bean & ground range and RTD iced coffees – including a sellout ‘Green Day’ matcha – have attracted over 80,000 new customers to its site. Meanwhile, it’s secured high-profile listings with Co-op, Tesco, British Airways and Sainsbury’s.
Judges praised the “beautifully designed” brand and “strong omnichannel strategy”.
