Champion: Barti & Sea Buckthorn Fizz
Given an increasingly competitive RTD category, it’s getting tougher for brands to dream up flavours or formulations bold enough to cut through. But by combining its award-winning Welsh Barti rum with sea buckthorn – a citrussy British coastal berry rarely used in alcoholic drinks – Barti Rum Ltd has managed it with their Buckthorn Fizz, a unique and elevated RTD with a distinctive brand personality.
Cans include artwork by celebrated British illustrator Tom Frost and a tongue-in-cheek tone that our judges felt added up to a “super premium” addition to the category, delivering something genuinely “eye-catching and unique” to shoppers. “An unusual concept but one that makes a lovely change in an otherwise pretty saturated market,” they summed up.
