Salad supplier G’s Fresh is pushing further into branded produce with the addition of tomatoes, peppers and cucumbers to its Fresh & Naked brand.

The company has added two branded tomato products - cherry tomatoes on the vine and mid-sized tomatoes - as well as mini cucumbers and pointed peppers to the range. It has also launched a new Union Jack-themed “celebration” salad bag, trays of mixed baby leaf varieties, mixed radishes and mixed packs of mini cucumbers and cherry tomatoes.

The products went into stores last Sunday (13 May) and - like the rest of the Fresh & Naked lines - are exclusive to Tesco.

Tesco buying manager George Heler said the new lines would “enhance” the Fresh & Naked brand for existing customers but also bring new customers to the brand.

G’s Fresh brand manager Amy Quant said it was not easy to sell brands in fresh produce, but the strength of the Fresh & Naked brand and its packaging design made it stand out in the “sea of red or green” of the salad aisle.

G’s will be supporting the new lines with a “foodie” PR campaign.
