Neyba aims to open 13 more stores across London

Neighbourhood grocery and restaurant start-up Neyba is looking to raise £15m as part of an expansion plan.

Burger & Lobster co-founder Misha Zelman and Ben Hedley, former Harrods and Heston Blumenthal Group marketing chief, opened their “multi-cuisine concept” in London’s Notting Hill in January.

Neyba offers customers dine-in and takeaway meals created by renowned chefs, as well as a range of high-end “restaurant quality” fresh produce and cupboard staples.

The business plans to use funds raised in the series A round to expand its reach across London with 13 more stores, including locations in Chelsea, Clapham, Hampstead, Islington, Wimbledon and Dulwich.

It will also put the money towards the launch of a “tech ecosystem”, which will include a customer-facing app to help lower food waste and save time.

Zelman said: “This investment round will ensure the Neyba brand is at the forefront of food and the future of food consumption. We’ve partnered with some of the country’s most forward-thinking chefs and producers to create an offering unlike anything else you can find.”

Customers can visit the store, which is open seven days a week from 12pm until 10pm and offers on-site dining.

Neyba also partners with Deliveroo, with shoppers able to order grocery items and ready-made meals, as well as a weekly essentials box.

Hedley added: “Seeing Neyba grow in West London is really thrilling and we are now ready to bring the concept to every corner of London. We’ve built a solid team that has developed and delivered an offering that we’re very proud of and think Londoners are now ready for this.

“We can’t wait to see Neyba grow over the next 12 months and bring delicious tasting food and our unique offering to millions of people across London.”
