Challenger nutrition brand Tribal Sports Nutrition has raised more £420k from the crowd to bring new products to market and raise brand awareness.

The business has recently secured new listings in Sainsbury’s and Wholefoods for its range of energy and protein smoothies.

Founder Chris Martin launched the business in 2018 with the goal of bringing a new kind of functional sports food range to market made from 100% natural and organic ingredients, including baobab.

Tribal smashed its £250k funding target on Crowdcube to secure £422k to invest in NPD and a marketing campaign.

“We know we’ve got a great brand and product offering, but to see that confidence reflected back at us from the public and investors is the highest praise we could receive,” Martin said.

“We look forward to seeing lift off for the brand in 2021 with the launch of sensational marketing campaigns to tell the world about the power of the baobab fruit and why we want to shift the mindset towards sustainable natural sports nutrition products.”
