Grampian Country Food Group has made two new appointments as part of the restructuring of its senior management team.

Steve Crossley has been appointed MD of its Pork Malton business unit. Crossley, who takes up his new role in August, joins from Northern Foods where he was business unit director of its chilled division.

He left in January this year and was replaced by former Heinz UK & Ireland MD Stefan Barden.

Prior to the business unit director role, he was MD of Northern Foods' Fletcher's Bakery subsidiary.

In his new role, Grampian said that he would take responsibility for its Malton, Ashton, Whitchurch, Ossett, Case and Cookstown locations.

Grampian has also appointed David Sims as director of corporate development. Sims, who took up his new role this week, has considerable experience of the UK food industry.

He has held chief executive roles at Prize Food Group and Nurdin & Peacock and has also held a number of senior positions in the convenience foods and poultry sectors.

Grampian said that in his new role Sims would assist the business in developing and implementing a successful long-term development strategy.
