Heating up the market
Krisprolls weren't the only food product on a roll with G Costa in 2000. While sales were up by 34%, largely due to the revolutionary Some Like it Rough ads to be aired again this May Amora Maille also increased 31% and Tabasco sales hotted up 17%, thanks to an an innovative London Underground campaign and real effort to encourage table top usage.
Tabasco is also back on TV this year with a brand new campaign aimed at adults aged 16-34 and ABC1 women. It aims to show the versatility of Tabasco for everyday usage in a quirky and fun presentation.
Meanwhile, a raft of new companies now working with Costa include French's American mustard, Orville Redenbacher's Popcorn, Keebler biscuits in the form of Cheez-its and Hain Mini Munchies, all from America. European brands include Anna's biscuits and Procordia's range of products under the Felix brand, both from Sweden.
G Costa md Tim Barlow explains: "Costa works closely with our suppliers to improve packaging, understanding the UK market by matching products to retailers wants and needs.
"We aim to build close working relationships with our suppliers and continue to grow their brands along with their sales."
