Colgate products have returned to Tesco.
At the time of writing, a search for ‘Colgate’ on the retailer’s website returned 68 SKUs. Only one of these products – Colgate Cavity Protection Toothpaste Pmp 100ml – was flagged as ‘unavailable’.
It comes after the UK’s biggest toothpaste brand almost entirely disappeared from Tesco last month.
The brand’s full range of more than 70 SKUs were listed as out of stock on the retailer’s website for a significant chunk of February.
Tesco told The Grocer at the time it hoped “to have a full range of Colgate products available for customers again soon” but “in the meantime, we continue to have strong availability across all the other oral care products in our range”.
Exclusive data, however, reveals that at least 10 SKUs have returned at higher prices.
Assosia data shows that Colgate Total Deep Clean Toothpaste 75ml, for example, rose in price by 24% from £3.80 to £5 on 24 February. Colgate Advanced White Toothpaste 125ml increased by 5% from £3.80 to £4 on 23 February [12 w/e 28 February 2022].
On 22 February, Colgate Max White Expert Complete Toothpaste 75ml rose by 33.3% from £9 to £12, the data shows.
The Grocer has approached Colgate and Tesco for comment.
