Carlsberg is planning to transfer production of its newly acquired German beer brand Holsten to the UK in the next few years.
It comes after the Danish brewer announced it was dissolving Holsten UK, a subsidiary of the parent company which it acquired in January in a £363m deal.
Holsten is currently brewed in Hamburg, with Carlsberg taking control of distribution which is mainly to the off-trade.
A spokeswoman for Carlsberg-Tetley, Donna Cresswell, said: “Brewing Holsten in the UK is on the cards. Holsten is very important to the off-trade and there is a great opportunity to build the value of the brand.”
