It looks as if households of the not-too-distant future will not just be weighing up how to save money on doing their cleaning, but how they can save their backs in the process. Vileda this week became the latest manufacturer to launch a cleaning robot, with a device that claims to be able to tackle the cleaning of hard floors or short-piled carpets in any room size without its owner having to lift a finger. The manufacturer has also gone in at a lower price than others who have pioneered such hi-tech contraptions, with the robot on sale at Argos for £189.99.
